Bio
Chaz Treharne, known professionally as Midoca, is
a Los Angeles-based composer, producer, and
songwriter originally from Youngstown, Ohio. Over
the past decade, he has built a distinct presence
in the electronic and alternative music scenes,
releasing music through labels such as Mau5trap,
Lowly Palace, and Monstercat. Midoca’s signature
blend of introspective lyricism and atmospheric
production has earned him features on The FADER,
Alternative Press, and Skrillex’s NEST HQ. In
addition to his solo work, he has collaborated with
artists including Getter, Taska Black, AWAY, and
Chet Porter.
My approach
My sound is shaped by worn textures and
atmospheric decay, reflecting the inevitable shifts
in relationships and communication. Influenced by
a large variety of genres including shoegaze,
noise, and ambient, I blend layered synths,
guitars, and processed vocals to create
immersive, evolving soundscapes. Each
composition embraces impermanence—finding
beauty in distortion, instability, and change.
